Even though my mother's side of the family has mostly lived in the US for many, many years. My step-father has quite a few immediate family members still there. We are lucky enough to have found his 88 year old mother(my grandmother) and his brother and sisters. It did take a few days to find them all but they are doing fine.
It does break my heart to know that places that your parents remembered as children are gone. Just gone. Churches, hospitals, hotels, whole villages are gone. I'm just thankful with this little news of hope. Now today, with this other strong "aftershock", I just have to wait again and pray for good news.
I appreciate the post and your well wishes. I've already donated money and have done some volunteer work. I just hope it'll be enough until I can do some more.
Thanks again,
SabrinaBreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17877275354914146963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570553510339407807.post-68935782950320837232010-01-15T04:14:29.246-08:002010-01-15T04:14:29.246-08:00This is such a terrible thing they are going throu...This is such a terrible thing they are going through, my prayers are with the people in Haiti. I pray that those families and people in Haiti can get the relief they need, and the hope they need until relief comes.Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14695400983881889370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570553510339407807.post-62255128543462416902010-01-14T18:02:07.188-08:002010-01-14T18:02:07.188-08:00It is truly and utterly heartbreaking. I was in tears for a good portion of the evening after reading a blog about the peril many orphans are in, orphans who are just a couple pieces of paper away from becoming American citizens, who have families WAITING for them here. It's awful.

http://thatschurch.com/2010/01/13/its-getting-real-bad/

We gave up Valentine cards for each other next month in exchange for the $10 donation we made to the Red Cross by texting HAITI to 90999. It's not much, but it's something that was easy to do. Hopefully we will be able to give more in the coming weeks and months.JIll @BabyRabieshttp://babyrabies.comnoreply@blogger.com
