I'm Gonna Be A Supermodel...

I was talking to Rob the other night about the compliments we have had over the past couple of years regarding our reproductive organs. One doctor had said I had a "a really, really good looking cervix", his sperm were deemed"great looking" from his SA, and this last doctor said I had "beautiful" tubes.

Me: "Apparently we are the supermodels of reproductive organs."

Rob: " We are like supermodels. Really, really ridiculously good looking, but that's about all there is to us!"

I'm glad we're to the point where we can laugh about these things together. It feels good. :)

"I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is."

I think they teach this method of bedside manner to doctors in Infertility 101...they say this to everyone not realizing that we kinda want something to not look so good so we can address the problem! Good luck!!

I tagged you and your fierce supermodel innards on my blog to do a meme (I don't know what that word means, but it's what the blogfolk call it).
Come over and visit to see what I mean.

Maybe it didn't hurt like others because your "pipes" were clear, you know? Like, maybe others have a more painful time because there are "bumps in the road" inside them. I hope it got them really "squeaky clean" so you are more fertile like the stats say!!!

Anonymous- You know I thought that too and asked the doctor and she said that isn't necessarily the case. She's had people who have had not so clear tubes that haven't had a painful experience and also had people who were completely clear for whom it was incredibly painful. I guess it totally depends on the person, and I just lucked out!

You are a true bad-ass (and a great writer). Keep up the hard work, it will pay off.
My husband and I have been TTCing now for a while too and your blog keeps me smiling. Thanks.

I just wanted to let you know that I've been reading your blog for a couple months (I even have you on my list, I hope you don't mind!) and I'm rooting for you. I recently had a miscarriage and even though I haven't been through your struggles, I understand the frustration and heartache that goes along with trying to conceive and I hope you receive very good, very helpful news VERY soon! Thank you for your blog!
