Lucy Watch 2008...

No Miss Lucy yet! I was all excited last week with my continued progress only to visit the doctor today to find...nada. Same as last week. 1 1/2 dilated. BOO. I was so ready for her to come this week. We're just dying to meet her! I've done a ton of walking, I'm not working (which is such a relief) and Rob and I have been doing lots of, er, extra curricular activities...every day. Lucky dog!

On the up side at least now my chances of spending Christmas in the hospital are slim to none. That is a plus because I just love Christmas. We're just hoping she comes soon because we are so excited and anxious for her grand arrival.

Rob's bet was yesterday, Monday the 22nd, and he spent all day talking to my stomach telling her to come out. Pleading really, he hates to lose a bet. My bet was this Friday, so I guess there is a chance that I could still win. However, it really bummed me out to schedule my induction with my doctor today for January 14th, in case she really does decide to hold out in there the doctor wanted to be all ready to go. I don't know if I can stand the suspense that long. Come on Lucy!

So not much to report here. I'm feeling better than I have in well over a month. Relaxing at home, sleeping in, being pampered like I am really does a 9 month pregnant girl some good! Rob cooks me everything, cleans the house, drives me everywhere (due to the 14 inches of SNOW out there)... I'm pretty much waited on hand and foot. I was so stressed at work that this just feels so wonderful, so at least if Lucy came in the next couple weeks it would be to a completely relaxed person rather than one all stressed out and overworked. I think this will also make such a difference in my delivery. If I had gone into labor last week with the stress of work and everything, I just don't think I would have the strength that I'm storing up now!
Once the Christmas craziness is over I'll keep the updates more frequent because... I don't have anything else to do. Whoo hoo!

"The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part."

What a great hubby, he's gonna be an awesome dad! I think everyone should have to "try" to have their kids, it makes you appreciate them way more (we tried for 3 years). I hope she comes soon, but not Christmas ;) enjoy your pampering!

Gosh I love following your story. I am sure you can't wait for your little one to get here!! My hubby and I have been trying now for 3+ years. We are positive that it will happen all in good time!

btw- where do you get your quotes? They are amazingly perfect for each post!

Well it sounds like you're already doing the one thing I did to prompt Miss Amelia to hurry along. I tried spicey food, walking for miles, squatting, everything short of castor oil (which my sister in law did....the results were not a baby, but a lot of time in the bathroom). Keep lettin Rob love on ya...I was in labor for 3 days, yes 3 days. (I had been dialated 1 for a month!) My midwife said "Megan go home and just do it". So we did just that. I was being admitted to the OB unit at 6am the next day, and Miss Amelia arrived at 5:56pm that evening :) I'm keepin good thoughts! :)

I'll hope for friday for you as well. It stinks waiting..my son was 6 days late. I must have walked 50 miles trying to get him out. What ended up working were the extra curricular activites and laying on the couch..resting. Good luck and hope you have a great Christmas!

Everything sounds great...especially being waited on hand and foot! Enjoy it now b/c it will go away when you have the little one. Keep hanging in there!

First of all.... Merry Christmas! Second, go to the MOVIES! I don't care if you see a horrible movie, it'll be the last time you and your hubby will sit in a quiet movie theatre before Lucy comes.
Third, if you have ever gotten a facial before, get one now.
Four, if you get makeup from a particular place (MAC, Presriptives, etc.) go there and get a make over.
Five, when you've done all you can for YOURSELF. Try nipple stimulation. I went into labor 24 hours later after I slept with these on. http://store.babycenter.com/product/softshells+for+inverted+nipples.do?search=basic&keyword=inverted+nipples&sortby=default&asc=true&page=1

My reason's for this list is because, you'll never forget the last movie, dinner, etc you had before having Lucy. You're skin will look marvelous during those impromtu pictures during the first few hours she's born and you'll learn fast techniques on how to look great with little sleep with makeup application! My best friend gave me this list and I will do the same thing before our next child is born in March.
Sorry this is long, but again Happy Holidays! Can't wait to see pictures of your darling when she arrives.

I can only imagine how anxious you are. Your due date is only 7 days away! That's crazy exciting!!! I hope you get your wish and get a December 26 baby. :- )

Enjoy the R&R and the, er, extra curricular activity. LOL. They say the "Friends" method is quite effective in bringing on labor.

I can't wait for the "Lucy is here" post! Merry Christmas!

You and I are only a few days apart :) Unfortunately, my little dude was already measuring at 40 weeks at the 35 week growth ultrasound. I've been living in extreme discomfort for several weeks now, lol. They are inducing me on Monday if I don't go on my own (hopefully that will give me a chance of doing this naturally). Good luck to you, and Merry Christmas!
