Flashback...

Last year at this time I was in the dreaded limbo of the two week wait. Wow. I cannot even remember how it felt to be trying and trying without succeeding for what seemed like forever.

Motherhood is everything that I had hoped and dreamed of and so, so much more than I ever expected. My floor needs mopping, I have three loads of laundry to do and I should get out into the garden and weed, not to mention my blog needs updating more often...but right now I have a tiny precious person sleeping on my bed and there is nothing more amazing and wonderful than when she opens up her eyes and smiles when she sees me.

I can't seem to remember how I felt last year or how difficult the journey was, maybe that is because I can now see that it was all part of a greater plan. Waiting DID make it all the much more worth it and my Lucy was SO worth the wait. It doesn't get any better than this.

"I've got sunshine
On a cloudy day,
When it's cold outside,
I've got the month of May.

Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl.
Talkin' 'bout my girl.

I've got so much honey
The bees envy me.
I've got a sweeter song
Than the birds in the trees.

Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. "

It's really great that you are finally a mom. And even better that it happened rather quickly for you! You were extremely lucky that clomid alone did the trick.

Amazing, Really great picture of Lucy. Did you take it?

I didn't take the picture. Someone at a baby shower I was at had a really nice camera and took it! I so wish we had a one, I think it was a Nikon.

Yes, we are lucky that Clomid and IUI did the trick. If you had asked me last year though, I would have said that TTC for two years felt like an eternity. Although in comparison to some I suppose it would seem not all that long. :)

Very, very well said. My baby turns one a week from tomorrow. It is so bitter sweet.

Awwww. Great post. Aren't babies the greatest? ...especially when she/he is your own. What a blessing! What did we do to deserve such a gift?!
I'm glad you are enjoying little Lucy so much. Keep doing what you are doing...leave the floor, leave the dirty laundry, etc. Lucy will only be tiny for such a short period of time. Enjoy it. The floors can wait :)

Only 3 loads of laundry?! You're good! LOL. Isn't being a new mom amazing? I'm still have to pinch myself sometimes!

I'm just entering my 11th two-week-wait. Your blog had been a huge inspiration. I'm so happy to hear that although the wait for some of us is long, it's well worth it :) She's beautiful.

thank you thank you, being someone who is in the midst of waiting and trying- it's good to see that hopefully one day i'll look back and not "remember" the pain of waiting!

It's funny because I was looking at your timeline and I am right now exactly where you were 1 year ago!! We even had our IUIs on the same days only one year apart. So glad that you are enjoying motherhood!!

Maybe it's the same type of phenomenon as forgetting the negatives about labor. Once it's over and you get to the good part, it's hard to remember how painful it was!

What a beautiful picture of Lucy! There was no doubt that she was going to fill your heart up. Hope all our wait is worth it too.

This is just beautiful! Especially that we are gearing up for our 4th IUI this week! Here's hoping we get our little miracle real soon. Enjoy your little Lucy. =)

I love that picture of Lucy! It's so sweet and perfect. I try to take pics like that, but it never quite works:-). And, I'm with you-- I have laundry coming out my ears and toys everywhere, but it couldn't be more worth it!
