Damn It Daddy...

So my lovely husband Rob is pretty damn manly. No metrosexual here. Nope, no sir. Even when it comes to Lucy I think he's going to encourage her to be a tomboy, and since I'm not the world's girliest girl it may very well happen.

So far I've put up with the ban on pink (she
still wears it sometimes) and the requests NOT to put any bows or clips in her hair. Fine. I don't particularly want a giant rose on her head anyways. However, I put my foot down when it comes to hats. I love cute hats and there are SO many cute hats out there for babies. Not to mention we're going into fall...you know, when it starts getting quite COLD outside. So hats? Probably not such a bad idea. Rob puts up a fight when I put hats on her, but do I care? No. This is coming from the guy whose idea of dressing up is putting on the first clean t-shirt on top of the pile in his drawer (I have to rotate them to get him to change it up a little).

So she has a whole drawer full of cute hats and you know what happens when she spends two whole days with daddy?

This:

"Noooo. I hate hats. Or at least Daddy told me I did....Mommy, why are you doing this to me? WHY?

"Daddy showed me a trick, now if I just grab the back..."

"Then give it a tug..."

"Ah HA! Success! Nice try Mommy. Now you're never going to get me to keep one of this damn things on my head!"

Thanks a lot Daddy! Seriously though folks, she absolutely will NOT keep a hat on her head now. Damn it! Foiled by Rob!

Oh, that is too cute! I love when Mommys give the baby's perspective. I'm struggling with keeping shoes on my kids' feet! Good luck with the hats!!!

I had a friend with the same issue. She started letting her little one fall asleep and sleep in hats. (as long as it wasn't too warm) They eventually grew to love them!

Oh tricky tricky Lucy. I have a feeling my future children will be the same way, seeing as Nate and I are a lot like you describes you and Rob.

:) Lucy is such a doll.

My daughter wore adorable hats until around 8 months and then all of a sudden hated them....she is now 18 months and still will not wear anything on her head...not a hat, a bow, a hood, nothing. She loves shoes though so I guess it's not all bad! :)

Don't be too hard on him. My daughter won't wear hats anymore either and my husband is all for them. Probably just cause they aren't used to it or something.

Ha ha! I loved the interpretations. So funny. She is so beautiful. I love the pic of her in the outfit I gave her! Yeah! What a sweetie. I like a girl with a little sass. I like hats, too. I bribe my kid with chocolate sometimes. I guess Lucy is a little too young for that. Darn.

Tell Rob there are lots of hats for little boys too! BTW, my son won't keep a hat on either.

None of my kids would ever keep hats on but now at age 3 and 4 they love them! Ironic how that all works out!

Lucy is a doll. She looks a lot like my little girl Norah! I will have to show you a recent picture the next time you're on BOTB :)

I love all this posting you are doing too! Hooray! Keep it up :)

Lol - what is it with men not wanting their daughters to wear girlie things? My brother-in-law is the same way!

Your hubby is going to hate his life if Lucy decides that pink is her favourite colour and hairbands are the latest trend, hee hee.

I do, however, think that hat is VERY cute!
