Lame...

Disclaimer: I am going to complain. I am very tired. This may not make sense and very possibly may be incredibly boring. You have been warned.
__

I'm tired. So very, very tired. I wanted to write a nice long bloggy blog about my adventures in breastfeeding... but I'm just too tired. I feel like my brain has just.plain.stopped.working.period.done.Do not pass go, do not collect $100. Ugh.

The worst part? It's only Tuesday. TUESDAY. I mean, its not as if it is Thursday, and the week has been busy and is now almost over...no, I've only completed two work days but for some reason I just feel like I've been run over by a truck. And oh, correction, the worst part of it isn't that its only Tuesday and I feel like falling asleep while doing the dishes earlier, (literally, the thought actually ran through my mind "maybe if I just rested my eyelids for a moment..." Good think I didn't or I would have ended up head first into the soapy pasta pan, but I digress), its that the next three days of my work week involve me either needing to leave for work extremely early (6:30 am anyone, you know it is DARK AT THAT TIME NOW, unheard of!) or me staying late or just plain long (damn you safety committee, damn you to hell).

Not to mention I'm still only seeing my Lucy for an hour or two at night which just makes me sad. So, very sad. This sucks.

Sorry this entry isn't uplifting, interesting or funny (ok, maybe the mental picture of me asleep in the kitchen sink may be marginally funny to some, but admit it, its weak even for me). I've basically bored myself almost to sleep just writing this. I probably shouldn't even post it...oh hell, why not. On a positive note, I'm sure my next blog entry will be much better than this one, something to look forward to, no?

Do you have any hellish work weeks or exhausting stay at home stories to commiserate with me? Misery loves company...please do share!

Well, my husband has been getting home from work at 7:30pm (he goes in a 6:30 am). So, I have been working late too. Now, I am spending all that time with my pumpkin, so it's not so bad, but believe me I am ready for a break by the time he gets home!

I hear ya! This week is dragging something terrible....the thought of it only being Wednesday morning is making me wonder how I'm going to make it through till Friday. Just know that your not alone and if you work an 8am-5pm schedule, then today at 12pm, consider your week half over!

I am right there with you! I am working full time and am in grad school plus I've had to do some travel the past couple of weeks. I only see my sweet Lucas a few hours at night. It has been SO hard. I hope it gets better for you soon! :) Take care of yourself!

Beverley--I am a working mama, too. I can competely relate to that "deflated" feeling when our little ones show the signs that they're ready to sleep...and we've only just gotten started with our bonding time! This issue is something I didn't expect and is the number one biggest challenge of being a working mom. I don't have any real advice... just wanted to say that I feel your pain and you have the right to whine about it!

We are on the same page, see blog from last night. How am I going to go back to work and need my brain to function? That's my question. How?

I'm feeling your pain! But, hey we made it to Wednesday. If you can make it through hump day, you can do anything... even if you have a 4-month old that has decided he needs to nurse all night instead of sleeping. I. AM. SO. TIRED. So, so very tired. It's Wednesday, I can do anything if I make it through today... I figure if I say this enough it will happen.

Figured I'd comment and let you know you aren't the only one surviving the week from hell...

Last week Monday morning, I exited the shower, slipped on the way out and rolled my ankle. When I finally managed to get out of the bathroom, I found my son in the hallway throwing up on the tile floor, my husband gagging as he was cleaning dog puke from the living room carpet and my 9 month old daughter screaming at the top of her lungs from her room. I went to check on her, now running horrible behind for the day (I would usually be dressed and made up by now), only to find that she had somehow figured out how to pull down the zipper on her onesie and had completly blown out her diaper, and not by a little mind you.

As I tried to pull the onesie off of her I realized that she was COVERED in poop! Literally from the back of her neck running down her leg. As I finished cleaning and dressing her I heard my husband holler "Luv Ya!" and pull the door closed behind him.

Needless to say it didn't get any better after we managed to get out of the door and I was 30 minutes late to work after having to call a tow truck to come and get the keys out of my car. Oh, and did I mention that the kids were locked in said car with the keys?

Crappy days (weeks) happen and sometimes you just have to throw your head back and laugh at the ridiculousness of it all or you'll totally lose it!

Hope your week gets better!

I am with you the long week.
I am working at home today - not by choice actually - but good thing, since our furnace is not working and my husbands car was broken into this am....

It is the pits only being able to see G for an hour each night, so you're not alone on that front either.

Lets hope both of our weeks improve - or at least the weekend is really good!

Hang in there - you can make it! Be like me and drink so much caffeine you still cannot sleep at night even though you are exhausted from being up all hours with your little one.

I can SO relate to this! My son has started jumping out of his crib (he's only 20 months). He does it everytime we put him in it! We're switching him to a big boy bed starting tonight, so if you want company my blog is going to be miserable and pathetic for the next few weeks while we make the transition.

I recommend coffee. Lots of coffee.

No stories here...I have considered falling asleep in random places. I hope your Wednesday was better!!!

Maybe this will make you feel better: after 3 years of trying to conceive, I found out TODAY that my IVF was successful. I'M PREGNANT!!!

I don't know if you are still miserable, but I thought I wouldn't leave you hanging without any comments. As a stay at home mom I have a very different experience from you; however, I am also exhausted most of the time and I am currently dealing with depression. I don't know if you'd call it PPD or not, but it's there and it sucks. It makes every activity I do feel exhausting. So there, misery, enjoy your company.

:) I felt the same way when I got pregnant with my son.

Just sayin..

An hour or two a night with Lucy? That is depressing! I would be doing all I could to change that ASAP. You're job has to know where your priorities lie- at home. No one can do it all, I don't care who you are. Those who claim to have nannies, cooks and maids. Kids come first, make sure it's clear to your boss and get out on time.If he/she doesn't get it maybe it's time to re-evaluate your work situation. Not saying not to work just your hours etc... Best of luck.

I can relate! I, too, am a working mommy of an infant. It's so hard sometimes. Some weeks are better or worse than others. I'm an attorney at a large firm, so that comes with tons of billable hour pressure. Thankfully, I'm typically able to go to work later in the morning (around 10) and I leave around 4:30 (sometimes later), but I log back on and work after my daughter goes to bed. (On the bad days I'm up working until 2am or so) This maximizes my time with my baby girl, but it results in one tired mommy. I'm actually in the process of trying to reduce my hours at work so that I only work Tu-Th with M/F off. I hope it works out because it's dang hard to work full-time when you just want to be home cuddling with your baby love.

Hang in there! Good luck! TGIF!!!

I know I am posting this late, but I have to share that I completely understand where you are coming from. I am a part time working mom of 4! Two of my 4 are teens and the other two are 2 and 5 Months. It is exhuasting! I never get to bed before 10pm and I am always up by 7am at the latest. Mormally I am up by 5:30 or 6am; 7 is considered sleeping in! There have been days where I am on the go so much that I have started to fall asleep driving. I remember one time being so tire on my way to an appointment; that when we got there 20 min. early I told my son...I am just going to rest my eyes; when the clock says 2pm wake me up. I knew that if I did not get a power nap we would not have made it home safely!
