Oh hello there....

Dear Blogosphere,

I'm back! It's been too long and there are many reasons for my being gone, mostly blamed on an insane work schedule, but none of that matters now since, I'm back! I need to get back in the swing of things so I figured what better time to announce...

I'M PREGNANT!

...and actually, quite far along. I'm 15 weeks to be exact. Shocking, isn't it?

Why did I wait so long? Well, there are people in my life -- work, friends, ect, who read this blog and I wasn't ready to tell the world so, it was our little secret for awhile there.

Were we trying? Well, I had my IUD taken out and one month later, shock of all shocks, I was pregnant. We couldn't believe it. After two years of trying for Lucy we get pregnant after one month of not-really-trying. When work was insane and my mother in law came to visit and I had to travel to California and it seemed absolutely impossible. I couldn't believe it. I actually waited until I was a week late to even test. Could it possibly be that easy?

Well...no. I was sick, and I mean SICK. Starting from week six I was absolutely miserably sick. Throwing up in my work trash can almost every day sick. 24 hour nausea sick. Migraines that lasted 3 days sick. I'm 15 weeks now and I'm still sick on and off. This is nothing like my pregnancy with Lucy, which automatically makes the husband think that its a boy (of course). But sickness I can deal with, the important thing is that baby is healthy and we find out on October 5th if he is a he or if he is a she!

Pictures to come soon of the bump! But for now, pictures of the light of my life, the soon-to-be best big sister EVER, my Lucy:

You'll forgive me for keeping this a secret for so long, right?

"She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities.  She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway.  She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark.  She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink.  Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child. Congratulations! Imagining your first-born as a big sibling really lets you see them in a whole new light, huh?

I really hope you start feeling better soon!

And regarding the one-month-of-kind-of-trying thing? OMG! (Trust me, I'm not typically an "OMGer.")

Congratulations!!!!! While it didn't take us nearly as long as you to get pregnant the first time (it took us 8 months) our daughter was the same as you.....not really trying but trying on the first "try". A very happy, healthy pregnancy to you. And......Lucy is just completely beautiful & adorable :)

That's exactly what happened to us. First baby we tried for almost 2 years and then with the second, I got pregnant the first month. So weird.
Congrats to you guys! Wishing you all the best!

Congrats! I too had trouble conceiving the first time, and no trouble the second time (my OB says it's quite common). I had no sickness with my daughter, but this time, with a boy (I'm 27 weeks), I was really sick.
Again, congrats to you and your family!

I am so happy for you and that you were spared the pain of infertility for this one! What a huge blessing. Not so much the sickness, though, dang. Well, at least it can't last too long. . .10 months on the long end. I am so sorry and hope it will end soon.

Also, Lucy and Lily have the same swimsuit! SO CUTE!
