It's a................

ANOTHER GIRL!

Hooray! Miss Lucy is going to have a sister.

Since I think of myself as somewhat of an only child (my half brother and sister were in their 30s when I was born) it was a somewhat lonely childhood sometimes, although my parents did their best to make it fun, I longed for a sister. I did notice that as a kid, most of the sisters that I knew fought like cats and dogs, however as an adult I am totally jealous of those sister relationships and how close most of them are.

Take my mother, she is one of nine (yes NINE) children and her sisters are all her best friends (all six of them). They have the best times together and I am so excited for Lucy to have that. Although I'll say right now, there won't be that many brothers and sisters for Lucy!

So we are very excited! Now we just have to think of a name and we're totally stumped. Lucy's name was just so easy because after trying for so long we had argued and vetoed and agreed on the name months in advance. For this little surprise we haven't thought of one name we both like. Not to mention the pregnancy has been so different we were certain it was a boy!

Lucy was so excited to go see the baby at the ultrasound, so she was understandably dissapointed that A.) we were telling her that the baby was this black and white, fuzzy thing on the computer screen and B.) We didn't go and get an actual baby. She was extremely put out. Not to mention she did not like Mommy getting that gel stuff on her stomach, and not being able to lie on the bed with her. So all in all, Lucy was unimpressed with the 18 week ultrasound.

We've decided that we're going to keep the nursery the same for Baby Girl #2. We might buy a new mobile (the cat attacked one of the birds in the mobile and it has been leaking stuffing ever since) and maybe a new rocker as the one that I've used is aproximately 100 years old and incredibly uncomfortable! But bedding, crib, wall art, everything else will stay the same. I'm sure the baby won't mind! Now lucky miss Lucy gets a new room and since she ADORES "diney-soors" we're going to make her a dinosaur themed big girl room!

I was seaching for some decals today and found these on Etsy:

I was thinking of buying two sets so I could get two different colors up on the walls and to keep it somewhat girly I was thinking of choosing Lavendar and Metallic Gold or White to go on the sage green walls we have up there.

She is so excited! This new room is WAY more exciting than the new baby.

So...here we go again! For now I'm destined to be a girl mommy!

CONGRATS!!! I am a proud Mommy of two girls as well (22 months apart). They're now 1 and 3 and are so much fun!!! You're going to have a blast!

We did the same thing...kept the nursery the same and gave big sis the cool new room. Just an thought: add bow to the "diney soors" to make'em even more girly...you could do white or gold bows on the lavender dinos and lavender bows on the white/gold ones.

P.S. Etsy is awesome for decorating kids rooms...99% of both my girls rooms are from there! I'm addicted!

Yay for sisters! Congratulations! I love the idea of a dino room for a little girl...I loved them too (and still do) as a kid. Good luck picking a name!

Congratulations!! How very exciting for you all! My son is way into dinosaurs, too. Check JoAnn's or Michaels for dinosaur fleece, my sister-in-law made a darling fleece blanket for my son for Christmas last year and he sleeps with it every night.

Congrats! So exciting!! I, too, have longed for a sister (or just a sibling close in age...my brother is 10 yrs younger than me). I'm 12 weeks preggers right now and the perinatologist predicted we're having a girl. We'll see at the 18 wk u/s. I'd love for my Zoe to have a sister.

Love the idea of the "diney-soor" big girl room. Very cool!

Congrats again!

Congrats on another girl! Even though my sister and I did not get along growing up, I'm so thankful I have her in my life now that we are both adults.

I think that's such a smart idea to keep the nursery the same! From the second you posted pictures of the PBK bedding you had picked out for Lucy's room, I fell in love with it! I hope one day I will have a girl so I can have my all time favorite baby girl bedding.

Congrats again!!

Aww, congratulations! I so wanted a little girl, but I am having a boy. I'm still happy though, he is healthy and I'm sure we will have lots of fun. Just wanted a little girl to dress up in bows and dresses. Love the dinosaur for Lucy. (That is my sisters name.) Good luck on choosing a name for the baby. We still don't have one, but I'm only 22 weeks.

Bev, congrat's!!!! I am so thrilled for you that it all happened so easily this time. I've been reading you since before you were pregnant with Lucy, so it's a particular delight to see you announce that you are very far along. And a girl!!! I don't have a sister, either, and always wanted one. It's going to be such a blast.
